Spot-2 or Spot Connect – Which should I purchase?

 Let’s go back about 4-years now and look at the choice for the correct Spot product.  Well, it was really quite simple, you could choose Spot-1 or Spot-1 and you could choose your favorite color, Spot orange or Spot orange (does this sound a little like Henry Ford with his Model T choices?).

 Then last year Spot-2 came on the scene.  Oh my, you actually had some choices to make.  People continued to purchase Spot-1 and even today now February 2011 we at Scramblers continue to receive requests for Spot-1 from professional users who are looking to purchase by the case but must turn them down since they are no longer available.  But back to Spot-2.  So now we had Spot-2 which saw improvements over Spot-1 which included 30% lighter weight and about 30% improvement in overall transmission (just a little note- Spot enjoys a 99% successful transmission rate around the world).  Spot-2 was also designed to make it more intuitive than Spot-1 with more lights to tell you what was going on although battery life was less than Spot-1.  But, you then had a choice – you can purchase your new Spot-2 in either the original Spot orange or Spot silver/black (we sell orange over black about 10 to 1).

 So now  February 3, 2011 we all patiently wait for the expected arrival of this new product called Spot Connect.  Well first you have a choice of color – either Spot black or Spot black (sound a little like Spot1?).  But more importantly, when a manufacturer introduces a new product you normally find it all but obsoletes the predecessor product and you may want no part of anything but what may be the latest and greatest.  Well, guess what?  Spot Connect does not obsolete Spot-2 as it is a completely new and distinctly different product but you should know what in the world we are even talking about.  The entire goal is to not just satisfy you with the product but delight you with your product choice and we believe to understand in layman’s terms what you are getting will go a very long way to achieving that goal.  Remember, you need to use Spot Connect with a Smartphone in order to achieve your full functionality!

 Recommendation as to what product to purchase – Spot2 or Spot Connect

 Why Spot2 is the right product for you:

•  You have no Smartphone – buy Spot2
• You don’t intend to purchase a Smartphone – buy Spot-2
• You have a Smartphone but don’t want use a second device to make Spot work
• You want the features offered by Spot2 and simplest operation – buy Spot2

 Why Spot Connect is the right product for you:

• You have a Smartphone and want to use it in conjunction with Spot Connect – Buy Connect
• You have a need for more than the 10 contacts offered with Spot-2 since you can now get 10 groups with up to 50 contacts per group – Buy Connect
• You want more 120 character fixed messages than offered by Spot2 – Buy Connect
• You want the ability to send up to 41 character text messages on the fly anyplace in the world even when you have no cell service – Buy Connect
• You are willing and able to deal with (2) separate devices – Buy Connect

 One last thought, if you should decide to purchase Spot Connect, while it needs a Smartphone to function completely, the Spot Connect device will still provide you with SOS/911 function even if you have no Smartphone or your Smartphone is out of power.
